Melanie “Mel” Mohler
I’m a writer, editor and local historian based in Akron, Ohio.
I have an MA in Applied History and Public Humanities and a BA in International Relations.
I am:
- the editor of Ohio Genealogy News
- a researcher and oral history interviewer for the Akron LGBTQ+ Archive
- a contributing reporter for Signal Akron
- an Akron documenter
- founder of the Akron Fish Fry Crew
My research interests include neighborhoods, community development, community development corporations (CDCs) and social clubs. Ultimately, I find inspiration and joy in telling the stories of everyday people, places and things.
